As we wait for kickoff in the 2013 NRL finals series the defending champion Melbourne Storm have somehow managed to sneak under the radar. At time this season the Storm have looked like clear cut premiership favourites. As always the Storm headed into the State Of Origin series looking a little off kilter as their…
I am sick to death of hearing people within Rugby League saying what a great player and person Sonny Bill Williams is. I am sick of hearing them talk about the way he has boosted the crowds at Sydney Roosters games, how he has helped the club sell more season tickets and merchandise. I’m sick…

Universal condemnation. That was the response to news that Ricky Stuart has decided to walk out on the Parramatta Eels to take up a lucrative 3 year deal with the Canberra Raiders. Having sold Eels fans a long term vision for the club, having coached them through one of the worse seasons any club has…

So, what might be in store for the most competitive competition in the world? On Friday we see the Rabbitohs take on the…
Anthony Watts has been handed an 8 game suspension for biting an opposition player on the penis. Video footage of the incident didn’t show the actually moment of mastication but it did show the opposition player reeling away, checking he still had his frank and beans, and then later taking down his shorts to show…
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been suspended for his forearm to the face of South Sydney forward Chris McQueen and will miss this weeks finals match against the Manly Sea Eagles. The Roosters were going with a “self defense” defense heading into the judiciary hearing. It didn’t go down too well as the judiciary members only took…
Whilst many people would disagree with me I am of the firm opinion that the Under 20′s or the National Youth Competition/Holden Cup has not done the job it was intended for. The major idea of this competition was to have an elite avenue for young rugby league players to progress into the NRL by…
You simply could not have scripted it any better, 2 fierce rivals battling it out in front of a massive crowd for the minor premiership. That is exactly the scene this past Friday night as a crowd of 59,708 witnessed the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Sydney Roosters. The pre match build up was…
The 2013 Super League Dream team has been announced with the minor premiership winning Huddersfield Giants featuring heavily in the lineup. Its hard to argue with the lineup they have announced. They have got it about spot on. The 2013 Super League Dream Team is as follows: Fullback: Sam Tomkins – Wigan Warriors Dream Team…
Finally league fans can focus on the best and forget the rest. All year league analysts have said only the top 4 can win it but this is the NRL not the AFL. Criticism of Ray Warren & Phil Gould has been rampant so I am going to try and do their job for them….
South Sydney Rabbitohs supporters held a banner up on Friday night that said “Scum: Forever In Our Shadow” as they took on the Sydney Roosters. I don’t see anything wrong with it… If one supporter based thinks about club is scum, what is the problem? Did anyone get hurt? No. Did it cause violent clashes…
Ricky Stuart will walk out on the Parramatta Eels after just one season in charge of the club. He leaves the club in a worse position than when he took over. I have already written about the fact that if Stuart leagues to coach the Canberra Raiders it will be a dog act. Many people…
Blake Ferguson has apologised to Canberra Raiders fans in an exclusive interview with the Sydney Daily Telegraph. The interview is basically what you would expect it to be. While there is no way to justify his behaviour or the fact that he just walked away from the Raiders and refuse to talk to them again,…
With the unprecedented success of Sydney teams, 4 finals will be played in the city over next weekend. Due to the fact the AFL have booked ANZ Stadium for the Saturday Night for the Swans home final, the NRL have been ‘forced’ to allocate 2 games to Allianz Stadium on Saturday Night – a finals…
The Denver Broncos swept aside the pain of last year’s playoff defeat against the Baltimore Ravens with a crushing 49-27 victory against the defending Superbowl champions in the NFL season opener. Ravens quarterback and reigning Superbowl MVP Joe Flacco came into the game without his top two receivers from last year as Anquan Bolden (traded…

This is the moment when the NRL must say that enough is enough. They need to draw a line in the sand right here and make it clear to every single player that there is a point where you destroy your Rugby League career. The Canberra Raiders have officially sacked Blake Ferguson. Ferguson does not…
It has been a very strange season to be a Canterbury Bulldogs supporter. Coming into the start of the year Bulldogs fans had every right to be confident. They club lost the 2012 Grand Final but was expected to take a bit step forward in 2013. Des Hasler’s second season with the club, new signings,…
When the Australian Rugby League Commission came into power there was a clear message that the new administration would have a “whole of game” approach to the decisions they made. In the past there was something of a disconnect between the NRL competition and the rest of Rugby League. The NRL was basically a company…

With the ridiculous St Kilda dwarf stunt dominating sports reports and jokes going round on how the NRL can top the stunt, no doubt talk will soon turn to why we should ban Mad Monday. I’m not going to get into that argument as personally I believe Mad Monday is here to stay, but I…

Its fair to say that Anthony Watts has now entered the hall of fame of Rugby League incidents. After allegations arose that Anthony Watts allegedly took a bite of an opposition players penis during a brawl it was only a matter of time before news agencies around the world picked up on the story. Thankfully…

The 2013 season has been nothing short of a disaster for the Parramatta Eels. On the field, off the field, it doesn’t matter. There is not one single positive thing to come out of the entire season for the Eels. The low light of this season came when Ricky Stuart called his squad into a…
A dwarf entertainer that calls himself “Mr Big” claims he was set on fire by St Kilda AFL club players at a Mad Monday celebration. The little person, who goes by the name of Blake Johnston, claims he was talking to one player when another player came up behind him and quietly started to set…
