The Houston Rockets have come to an agreement to buy out guard Ty Lawson, ending his short lived and disappointing time at the club.
The Rockets traded for the troubled Lawson heading into the 2015-16 season and looked to be getting him at a bargain basement price. However, Lawsons style of play did not fit in with the team and he seemed to get worse as the season progressed.
Lawsons release will help the Rockets as they try to get under the luxury tax limit, something that their failed trade with the Detroit Pistons was unable to do.
Lawson was seen as a great addition to the Rockets. While his loss won’t affect the team too much, he is a case study for a player affecting the chemistry of a team.
