Well the mid season Test match is not far off now and its time to start thinking about who you would select in your Australian Test team. Its sad to think that politics will come into play when picking the actual side. The Queenslanders will not be happy untill all 17 players are from Queensland…
Strap in folks, this is gonna be a long one! In an amazing game that was a fitting end to the centenary celebrations in Australia, New Zealand has beaten Australia 34-20 to claim the Rugby League World Cup! I was lucky enough to be at the game and it was very surreal to see New…
Well 2008 turned out to be another stinker for the Penrith Panthers. The season started off with a flogging by the Brisbane Broncos and never looked to get any better. Some pointed to an improvement on last years Wooden Spoon season, but the fact is that if the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs and Cowboys hadn’t fallen in…
The Sharks surprised everyone by swooping for Anthony Tupou’s signature earlier this week but now the talk is the Sharks have a few more moves up their sleave. There have been suggestions in the media that the Sharks will make a move to sign St George/Illawarra’s Jason Ryles, and may even be willing to swap…
Penrith have won their first game of the season despite giving up 16 points in the second half, downing the winless South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-20. If you haven’t been keeping up with the goings on at the worst club in the NRL, the players got Petero Civoniceva to confront coach Matthew Elliott about his game…
Penrith must once again be favorites for the wooden spoon in 2008 after being easily beaten by the Broncos 48-12. Brisbane did it easy, despite their side looking to be the poorer side on paper and starting Darren Lockyer from the bench for the first 20 minutes of the game. Brisbane looked fitter, faster and more…
2003 Clive Churchill Medal winner Luke Priddis has giving one of the most honest, and damning interviews I personally have ever seen from a player about his own club. Priddis, who has played for the Canberra Raiders, Brisbane Broncos and Penrith Panthers, has represented Country Origin, New South Wales and Australia, and who was the man…
Australian and Queensland Rugby League champion Petero Civoniceva has been named the captain of the Penrith Panthers for the 2008 season. Its a welcome change to have a respected leader as captain of the Panthers after years of having to put up with serial dickhead Craig Gower. Civoniceva is just the type of leader the Panthers need. A consummate professional, a…
The World Champion Australian Rugby League team has demolished New Zealand by a score line of 58-0. It took Australia about five minutes to kick into gear and once that happened they just looked three classes above New Zealand. The youngest backline in Australian Rugby League history was just oustanding showing power, speed, skill and…
The Canberra Raiders have made approches to two players but can only afford one of them. One player is Paul Whatuira, New Zealands Test center, a two time Premiership winner, one of the most professional players in the game, a leader and a player that gives you his best every week. The other player is…
Penrith has won the race to sign Brisbane, Queensland and Australia prop Petero Civoniceva holding off the Sydney Roosters, Brisbane Broncos and Hull FC for his services. Civoniceva is the perfect player to come into the club at a time when it needs leadership and an example for the young players about what being a…
You know…I couldn’t have put it any better than the Sydney Morning Herald did in reviewing the game. So I’m going to let them take over for a moment: MITCHELL Pearce scored a miracle try right on full-time to get the Roosters home in his first meeting with Craig Gower since their infamous flare-up at…
Suggestions that the move by Johns to be “excused” from playing the opening Tri Series match will just degrade the Australian test jersey are laughable. Let me get this straight. So in 1995 the ARL decides it wont select players that have signed up to the new Super League competition. It goes on to not…
