The Cronulla Sharks have announced they they will not be looking to bring in a new coach for the rest of 2014 season. That means that James Shepherd will continue his role as the Sharks interim coach until the return of Shane Flanagan once his ban from the game is over.
The Sharks tried to bring in a number of different coaches to the club since Peter Sharp resigned. It was a job no one wanted to take on board so it’s not surprising the club has now decided to stick with Shepherd.
Sharks supporters will be happy to see the back of the 2014 season. It is expected that a number of their players will be suspended when ASADA gets around to sending out show cause letters to Sharks players.
That won’t be a great moment for the club, but at least it will signal the end of what has been a really tough few years for the Sharks.
