I’m Getting Sick About Writing About Off Field Incidents

Another day, another off field disgrace for Rugby League fans to deal with.

This time its Newcastle prop Danny Wicks who has been charged with supply and possession of prohibited drugs.

Serious? Well, he’s been refused bail. Even Greg Bird got bail…

It just makes you wonder what goes through the head of some of these players.

As a fan of the game, I’m just over it. As someone that has to write about these things on this web site, I’m over it.

Its boring.

I think the NRL needs to really ruin these players careers at this point. If we have a lower quality competition full of choir boys for a few years, so be it. It’s what the game needs because every single time one of these idiots gets in trouble it is another kick in the guts for the NRL.

As an isolated incident, it would be a shock, however this incident with Wicks follows on in the same week as a couple of serial idiots, Paul Gallen and Jake Friend, have found themselves in trouble with the police.

If you get charged by the police, for anything, you should have a couple of months on the sideline to think about it.

Innocent until proven guilty, for sure, but go and be innocent somewhere else would ya!

If you get convicted of something, thats fine, have four months off to think about what an idiot you are.

The NRL needs to give a real deterrent to players. These guys need to realize that, if they screw up, they are jeopardizing their careers.
