Here are the player ratings I know you all have been waiting for. Here I will rate every single player in the Queensland team from game one of the 2026 State Of Origin series!

Player Ratings For The Queensland Maroons

  1. Kalyn Ponga – 6 – Played great but got sent off. That killed them.
  2. Selwyn Cobbo – 8 – Best game of his whole season.
  3. Robert Toia – 5 – Pretty quiet in this one.
  4. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow – 6 – Was so dangerous early on but went quiet.
  5. Jojo Fifita – 5 – I expected more from him.
  6. Cameron Munster (c) – 4 – Was very quiet in this one.
  7. Sam Walker – 7 – A great Origin debut. Played better than I expected!
  8. Thomas Flegler – 5 – need more go forward.
  9. Harry Grant – 5 -I expected more from him.
  10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui – 6 – I want more from him at this level.
  11. Reuben Cotter – 6 – Got through some work.
  12. Kurt Capewell – 7 -Kept looking for work all game long.
  13. Max Plath – 6 Pretty solid on debut!

Interchange / Bench:
14. Briton Nikora – 4 – Played 43 forgettable minutes.
15. Lindsay Collins – 4 – Plodder of a performance.
16. Patrick Carrigan – 4 – Needs to be better.
17. Trent Loiero – 3 – Pick someone else!

Reserves (18-20/21):

Here is the way these ratings work:

10 – The perfect game. Absolutely dominated the game and stood head and shoulders above all others.

9 – An incredible game. They changed the contest and played and incredible 80 minutes.

8 – A very, very good performance. Was one of the best on the field.

7 – An average performance. They were very good.

6 – An average performance. A pass mark. They got the job done.

5 – A slightly below average performance. 

4 – A player who was below average and honestly, not very good. 

3 – A really bad game.

2 – Terrible performance.

1 – A catastrophe, or they just added absolutely nothing at all to the contest.
