Matthew Bowen Re-Signs With The Cowboys For Four More Years

Some brilliant news for Rugby League today with the announcement that Matthew Bowen will remain a North Queensland Cowboys for at least the next 4 years.

Bowen is off contract at the end of the 2008 season and with his incredible form you would have to think he would have been in high demand by just about every club in the game.

Bowen is a native of North Queensland, he has played his entire career at the clubs and quite frankly, to see him playing for any other team would just be wrong.

You have to give him a lot of credit here too. He didnt need to drag it out with endless speculation. He didnt do mid season tours to other clubs to see what they could offer him. He didnt get shopped around, he just quietly re-signed with the club and got on with things.

A class act all round.

Its a big difference from some of the others players in our game that spend the entire season whoring themselves around.

I have no problem what so ever with a player getting as much money out of the game as they possibly can, and I’m far from being one of these people that think players should stay at one club just for the sake of it.

However the way some players and their managers have carried on in recent years is embarrassing, egotistical, and fascicle.

Its good to finally see one of the games true superstars quietly go about business off the field and let his football on the field do all the talking.

Congratulations to Matty Bowen and the North Queensland Cowboys.
