Confirmed: Its is now official, Craig Gower will join the Newcastle Knights for the remainder of the season.
Daily Telegraph journalist Dean Richie has tweeted that current London Broncos halfback Craig Gower is “almost certain” to join the Newcastle Knights within the next few days.
This news comes just days after it was revealed that Gower was looking to return to the National Rugby League after stints playing Rugby Union and Super League.
Having watched him play for the London Bronco’s this season, I’m not sure why any NRL club would even give him a second thought! That he is going to the Newcastle Knights, a team that already has an aging lineup, is shocking.

At 35 years of age, Gower would be one of the oldest players in the NRL on his return. Gower walked out on the Penrith Panthers mid contract to play Rugby Union in Europe. He left Rugby Union after requiring a knee reconstruction and has been playing with the London Broncos since last year.
If this happens it is a terrible signing by the Newcastle Knights. How many past it players do they really need at the club?
