In some great news for the game the Parramatta Eels today confirmed that former captain Tim Mannah would remain at the club through the end of the 2019 season.
It was a little over a week ago that Mannah looked set to leave the Eels immediately to join the Wests Tigers. However it seems after talking about post football opportunities Mannah will remain with the clubs and most likely retire as an Eel at season end.
It would have been sad to see Mannah leave the club this late in his career. I for one am glad to see him stay.
You have to wonder about the Wests Tigers and their player recruitment moves over the last few weeks though.
After missing out on DWZ who looked all set to join them before he signed with the Canterbury Bulldogs, the club has now failed to secure the signature of Tim Mannah is similar circumstances.
Not a great time to be a Wests Tigers supporter right now…
