Channel 9 reporter Danny Weidler has said that the Cronulla Sharks have made subtle enquiries about the possibility of Benji Marshall returning to the NRL and playing for the club.
While Marshall has said he would not play for another NRL club after leaving the Wests Tigers after last season, that could all change if the price is right and Marshall grows tired of his lack of opportunities in Rugby Union.
You have to wonder why the Sharks would be after Marshall. Carney and Robson play well as a combination. Marshall wouldn’t move back to the NRL with the idea being that he would be a backup thats for sure.
It will be interesting to see if anything more comes from this.
