It was shocking news to hear that Wakefield prop Adam Watene had passed away at just 31 years of age.
Reports seem to suggest that Watene had a heart attack while doing weight training.
Watene had been training on his own to get his fitness back before the Wildcats resume official team training in just over a months time.
As professional sports pushes the limits, there are more occurances around the world of players dying both during training, and in a few rare occurances, during games themselves.
Considering that sportsmen are so closely monitored by doctors, its hard to suggest anything more can be done to avoid these terrible deaths from occuring.
What ever the case, its very sad news.
