News Limited is reporting that Newcastle Knights forward Alex McKinnon has been played in an induced coma to aid in his recovery from what has been described as a “devastating” spinal injury.
The news comes just hours after the Newcastle Knights updated its supporter base on the condition of Alex McKinnon.
The Rugby League community is rallying around McKinnon and his family. While it is still very early days I have no doubt everything possible will be done to help McKinnon and his family through this ordeal. Rugby League needs to make sure that anything this young man needs, he gets.
This is very difficult to write about but I know that people want to be kept up to date on Alex’s condition. I hope in the very near future the posts about Alex come with much better news.
We are all thinking of Alex and his family and hoping for a speedy recovery.
