The Penrith Panthers came into the 2019 season full of confidence that they had a big season ahead of them. After a great 2018 season, which still wasn’t enough for the club, everyone at the Panthers was looking for more heading into this season.
The club had gone out of its was to pick up Ivan Cleary as coach, seeing him as the man to take the club to the next level. They had locked in key players in their lineup to long term deals. Everything was set up perfectly.
Then, they started playing games…and it was very clear early on that something just wasn’t right at the foot of the mountains…
Mistakes and penalties littered their performances. Worst of all, the Panthers missed tackle numbers were alarmingly high. The Panthers have looked like a team lacking desire in 2019 and as a result as we head into May the Penrith Panthers season may already be over.
