Gaining a medical retirement, and therefore salary cap relief for an NRL club, use to be a very long, drawn out, and difficult process. However, in 2019 we have seen Greg Inglis, Sam Burgess, Matt Gillett and Ben Matulino all gain medical retirements, with more said to be on the way.
