Official: Ricky Stuart Quits The Parramatta Eels, Signs 3 Year Deal With The Canberra Raiders

Daily Telegraph writer Phil Rothfield is reporting that Ricky Stuart has officially quit the Parramatta Eels this evening and will sign a three year deal to join the Canberra Raiders.

The move ends speculation about the Raiders coaching position and will now see the Eels having to find a new coach that is willing to rebuild what is now a mess of a lineup.

Ricky Stuart had denied speaking to anyone from the Raiders as late as last weekend. It seems this deal was done very quickly in the magical word of Sticky…

I wrote just a few days ago that Parramatta Eels fans should be glad to be rid of Ricky Stuart. I have also written that Ricky Stuart would be a dog to walk out on the Eels after gutting the team and trying to sell everyone on his long term plan.

When you look at Stuarts record and the way things end badly with pretty much every team he coaches, it’s a surprise the Canberra Raiders wanted him on board.

Hopefully now the Eels end up with a coach that really is committed to the rebuilding process. Not one that just says he is…
